Das Racist & Tab Kweli - Eastern District Mosholu

It’s Tuesday Tracks time! My favorite time of the week. Prepare yourselves, I have an eclectic mix of tracks coming your way this time.

First up, of course, is the newest single from The xx, “Angels,” from the band’s upcoming album Coexist. It’s beautiful, simple, stripped down and ethereal, and the ideal kick-off to this list. Check out album details in the link above.

Up next is a fun track from Brooklyn band TEEN, comprised of three sisters and their two best friends (including member Teeny Lieberson, a former member of Here We Go Magic). “Electric” is a fun, synthesized retro track with eerie vocals that will get you dancing. TEEN will put out their debut EP, In Limbo, on Aug. 28.

Now to throw in a hip-hop song to through all of you off your tracks – here’s “The Actual” from Das Racist and Talib Kweli off the compilation Eastern District Presents Mosholu, featuring Brooklyn-based artists like Spank Rock, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Machine Gun Kelly and more.

Dream pop duo Puro Instinct has a forthcoming, self-released EP coming out later this year, and “Dream Lover” is an aptly-named track from that EP. If you’ve never listened to Puro Instinct, you can definitely see the similarity between them and Dent May, except, you know, the female version. Judge for yourself below.

And lastly, we have the video from How To Dress Well‘s newest single from Total Loss, called “Cold Nites.” It’s the classic, R&B-inspired vibe we know and love from HTDW, and “Cold Nites” in particular is very relaxed.

Keep your eye out for new tracks coming out this week! Let us know what you like on Facebook and we’ll include it in next week’s list.
